In many instances financial institutions, bonding agencies, or other governing bodies require less assurance than an audit.  In these cases a review, which costs less than an audit.  A review is performed by making inquiries of management and performing analytical procedures.  Through these procedures a CPA gathers a limited amount of information and determines whether the client's financial statements are free of obvious material misstatements and expresses limited assurance on the financial statements.  The report would read as follows "the CPA is not aware of any material modifications that should be made to the statements in order for them to be in conformity with GAAP (or, if applicable, with OCBOA)."  We would be delighted to meet with you to discuss the review services.

When assurance on the financial statements in not needed, but instead you simply need help building financial statements from your business data, compilation services may be what you need.  In performing a compilation a CPA uses the client's financial data to format it into a properly structured set of financial statements.  Compilation procedures do not include inquiries and analytical procedures, and as such, the accountant does not offer any form of assurance on the content of the financial statements.  We would be delighted to meet with you to discuss the compilation services.
